Both Peduncolo Rosso and Faedis are planted in our Bottaz IGT VENEZIA GIULIA vineyard, thus providing more complexity to the wine. The Refosco cluster, being very long, tends to exert too much weight causing the rachis to dry out. It is therefore necessary to cut all the bunches in half. Refosco is one of the ancient grapes of the Friuli region, whose original name was Racimulus fuscus. Already known in antiquity, this wine enjoyed great popularity in 1409 with Pope Gregory XII in Cividale and with the nobility during the military games of 1762. At the first oenological congress in 1891, it was divided into three categories: 'red peduncle', 'green peduncle' and 'Terrano d'Istria'.

Vinification | Aging
The Refosco grape is very tannic and the cold climate of our vineyards necessitates a very gentle maceration to avoid green extractions and to obtain more elegance, about 20 days from when it starts. spontaneous fermentation. Refinement takes place in used French barrels and provides the right evolution while keeping the varietal expression unaltered.
Bottling
The wine is bottled without filtration.
