25 May FORBES: RONCO DEL CERO’
RONCO DEL CERO’ – One of the best wines to get through quarantine
Venica & Venica is honoured to be listed by FORBES among the best 15 wines to drink… to better pass through this period of self-isolation!
Victoria James, Beverages Director of the Michelin star restaurant “Cote” from New York City and author of ‘Wine Girl,’ recommends our “RONCO DEL CERO’”, Sauvignon 2017 DOC Collio in this article published on FORBES and she says:
“Tucked into the northeastern corner of Italy in the Friuli region, the Venica & Venica winery is just steps from the Slovenian border. Ronco del Cerò is the name of the hill where Giampaolo Venica’s (the current winemaker) great-grandfather first planted Sauvignon Blanc,” James says. “To me, the wine always tastes like something in between Sancerre and Californian examples. It has more weight to it and tropical fruit notes. Giampaolo ferments the wine on its lees which gives it a sort of slickness on the palate and extra flavor. It’s my favorite thing to drink with polenta, but is also great with poultry, pork, and pasta with clams and olive oil.”
