live alla cantina venica&venica

LIVE AT VENICA&VENICA WINERY “Nítido e Obscuro” live recording at the Venica&Venica Wine Cellar Artists: Gabriele Mirabassi (clarinet), Roberto Taufic (guitar)

On a night of early June 2017, the clarinetist Gabriele Mirabassi and the guitarist Roberto Taufic “have explored the many levels of color and taste of the music”. (quoted by Brian Morton)

The recording was made by Stefano Amerio at the Venica & Venica Wine Cellar of Dolegna del Collio in June 2017 and mixed at Artesuono Studios of Cavalicco with the music producer Ermanno Basso. The mastering was arranged by Danilo Rossi.

“The jazz notes blend together with the tasting notes of a glass of wine creating a night of pure magic.
Emotions run on the wings of the notes of Nítido Obscuro. While dedicating an unrealised composition to me Donna Ornella, Gabriele Mirabassi and Roberto Taufic brought me into a new dimension that made me feel special. (quoted by Ornella Venica).

“Wine and jazz. They somehow belong together; not because at the beginning the music found its most loyal audience in dimly lit cellars, but because both require a subtle combination of skills and technique, great materials, and above all, time. CAM JAZZ producer Ermanno Basso confirms the deep connections between wine and jazz, defining them “both so alive!” and points out their common ability to approach to the problem of the months necessary to organise that week of recording, very similar to the time it takes for a good Friulian wine to reach its mature identity.” (quoted by Brian Morton)
